iPhone vs Android Phone Farm: Which to Buy?
Android farm boxes cost $1,880 for 20 phones; iPhone boxes cost $3,700 (iPhone SE) or $6,400 (iPhone 12), or $690 empty. When iOS is worth the premium.

For most phone farms Android is the cheaper and simpler start: a 20-phone Android box costs $1,880, about $94 per phone. An iPhone box costs $3,700 with iPhone SE or $6,400 with iPhone 12, and is worth it when accounts have to live on iOS. We build both kinds of farm box, so this is not a pitch for one side — it is the trade-off as we see it from the racks we run ourselves.
Should I buy an Android or an iPhone phone farm?
- Buy Android if you are starting, if cost per phone matters, and if nothing requires your accounts to be on iOS.
- Buy iPhone if the accounts have to be on iOS — an iOS-only app, a client who insists, or a niche where iPhone-shot content is what the audience expects.
- Buy the empty Lightning box if you already own iPhones and only need the rack, wiring and cooling.

How do price and lead time compare?
| Box | Phones | Price | Per phone | Ships |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Android | 20 Android phones | $1,880 | $94 | built to order, 2–3 weeks |
| iPhone SE (3rd gen) | 20 × iPhone SE | $3,700 | $185 | in stock, 1–2 weeks |
| iPhone 12 | 20 × iPhone 12 | $6,400 | $320 | built to order, 2–3 weeks |
| Empty, Lightning | none — yours | $690 | — | in stock, 1–2 weeks |
The Android and iPhone 12 boxes are built to order in two to three weeks; the SE box and the empty chassis are built and waiting. Freight is $230 on each, free above $5,000. The full cost picture is in how much does a phone farm cost.
What is the same on both?
The chassis, wiring, cooling, numbered slots, burn-in and 12 months on hardware are identical. So is the control software: live screen, per-phone logs, assistant access and automations in the same browser grid. Every phone in either box has a camera and a SIM slot, so accounts can be verified by number and content can be shot on the device.
Where does Android win?
- Cost. A full Android box costs about half of the SE box and under a third of the iPhone 12 box.
- Flexibility. The software also runs on Android phones you already own, not only on our boxes.
- Swaps. Android phones are cheap to replace and easy to source.
Where does iPhone win?
- iOS-only requirements. Some apps and some client contracts are iOS first. If that describes you, there is no Android answer.
- Audience expectation. In a few creator niches, iPhone-shot content is what the audience expects. Whether that moves your numbers is worth testing on a small scale before you buy 20.
- Updates. Both the iPhone 12 and the iPhone SE (3rd gen) still receive current iOS releases.
iPhone SE or iPhone 12?
The SE (3rd gen) is the practical choice: the A15 Bionic chip of the iPhone 13 generation, Touch ID, a SIM slot, a camera that is fine for short-form content, and a box price of $3,700, in stock. The iPhone 12 box costs $6,400 and takes longer, but brings Face ID, a larger OLED screen and a better camera. Buy the 12 when the content is shot on the phone and image quality is the product; buy the SE when the phone mostly posts.
What is the empty Lightning box?
The empty Lightning box is the same chassis with Lightning cables fitted in all 20 slots and no phones. It fits any iPhone with a Lightning port — up to and including the iPhone 14 family. iPhone 15 and later use USB-C and need different cables, so ask before you order. At $690 it is the cheapest way into a rack if you already have the handsets.
Can I run Android and iPhone side by side?
Yes. The software shows both in one grid. Plan the licence by phone count, not by box: Standard covers up to 25 phones, so one box of 20 fits; two boxes (40 phones) need the Full version, which covers up to 100. On hosted racks you pick Samsung or iPhone for each phone when you configure the rack.
FAQ
Is the software different for iPhone and Android?
No. Same browser, same grid, same logs. The licence drives either box.
Can I put my own iPhones in a full box later?
The slots in a full box are already occupied. For your own phones, buy the empty Lightning box.
Do iPhone farm boxes have SIM slots?
Yes. Every iPhone we ship has a SIM slot. On hosted racks, a carrier SIM is $30 per phone per month for iPhone and Samsung alike.
Which is safer for account health, iPhone or Android?
Both are real phones, which is what matters. Account health comes from one connection per phone and human behaviour, not from the logo on the back. See phone farm proxies and SIMs.
Ready to run real phones?
Buy a 20-phone farm box, rent a hosted rack, or run our control software on hardware you already own.
