A 20-phone phone farm costs $1,880 for an Android box, $3,700 for an iPhone SE box or $6,400 for an iPhone 12 box, plus $230 freight and control software from $99 a month. What does a phone farm box cost?
A box is a 20-slot chassis with phones, wiring and cooling, assembled and burned in before it ships.
| Box | Price | Lead time |
|---|---|---|
| Phone farm box — Android, 20 Android phones | $1,880 (was $2,690) | built to order, 2–3 weeks |
| iPhone farm box — iPhone 12, 20 × iPhone 12 | $6,400 | built to order, 2–3 weeks |
| iPhone farm box — iPhone SE (3rd gen), 20 × iPhone SE | $3,700 | in stock, ships in 1–2 weeks |
| iPhone farm box — empty, Lightning, bring your own iPhones | $690 | in stock, ships in 1–2 weeks |
Every box carries 12 months on hardware. Not sure which one fits? iPhone vs Android for a phone farm walks through the trade-off.
What do freight, duty and VAT add?
Freight is a flat $230 from Switzerland and free once the goods in the order pass $5,000. Import duty and tax are yours to declare and pay to your own customs office. Swiss customers pay 8.1 % VAT; exports ship without Swiss tax.
What does the control software cost?
Hardware does nothing without the screen you run it from. The control software — live screen view, per-phone logs, assistant access and automations — is a subscription:
- Standard: $99 a month, up to 25 phones, analytics for the last 7 days, 200 GB video library.
- Full version: $249 a month, up to 100 phones (more in packs of 50 for $79 each), full analytics history, 1 TB library, priority support and a personal setup call.
- Yearly for the price of ten months: $990 or $2,490.
Posts and accounts are not limited in either plan, and you can cancel at the end of any month. Automations — reading the screen, posting, scrolling, commenting — run on prepaid AI credit that you top up yourself and that is charged by what they actually use; the calculator in your account shows the cost before you start.
What do SIMs and proxies cost?
Each phone needs its own way online, and this is where budgets differ most. On our hosted racks the options are:
- Your own proxy — included.
- Carrier SIM per phone — $30 per phone per month plus $10 activation.
- Managed mobile proxy — $95 a month plus $95 once; one proxy serves up to 20 phones.
On a box you own, you bring the SIMs or proxies from your own provider. We compare the options in phone farm proxies and SIMs.
What does it cost to rent a phone farm?
Hosted racks are billed per phone per month, the rate falls as you add more, and the control software is included:
| Phones | Samsung | iPhone |
|---|---|---|
| 10–19 | $63 | $79 |
| 20–49 | $50 | $63 |
| 50+ | negotiated | negotiated |
Connectivity is added as above. Ten phones is the minimum, billing is monthly with no lock-in, and phones are online within one working day.
What does a first year with 20 Android phones cost?
Buying. Android box $1,880 + freight $230 = $2,110 up front. Standard software $99 × 12 = $1,188 (or $990 on the yearly plan). Year one: about $3,300, plus your own SIMs or proxies. From year two the hardware is paid for, and what remains is the software and your connectivity.
Renting. 20 Samsungs at $50 = $1,000 a month, software included. With your own proxy that is $12,000 in year one; with the managed proxy ($95 a month + $95 once) $13,235. Hardware and swaps are handled by us, and you can stop any month.
Buying costs less from the third month onward. Rent to test an operation or when you need phones this week; buy when you know the farm will run for a year or more. The full comparison, including iPhones, is in rent vs buy a phone farm.
Which costs do people forget?
- Space and airflow. A box is built for airflow; a shelf of loose phones is not. See building vs buying a rack.
- Content. Phones post what you give them. Budget for editing and a steady supply of clips.
- AI credit. Automations are paid by use, on top of the licence.
- People. Assistants are the biggest line in most operations, which is why per-phone logs and one-click access control matter more than they sound.
FAQ
What is the cheapest way to start a phone farm?
The empty Lightning box at $690 plus $230 freight if you already own iPhones with a Lightning port, or renting ten Samsungs at $630 a month if you do not want to buy hardware.
Is the $1,880 Android box price real?
Yes. It is the current shop price, down from $2,690, and it is what the checkout charges.
Do I pay for the software if I rent?
No. Hosted racks include the control software. When you buy a box, the licence is $99 or $249 a month.
Are there hidden fees?
No. On a box: freight ($230, free above $5,000), your own import duty and tax, the software subscription, your connectivity and the AI credit your automations use. Everything except the AI credit is priced on this page; the calculator in your account prices that before you start.
